Sunset Stories was created by Kelly Stopp and Suzanne Vogt; two teachers who love reading. We wanted to offer more to our students and families beyond the regular school day to support literacy in our community.
Modeling good reading is so important to young children as it provides a foundation that fosters an understanding and love of learning for a lifetime! We hope you can join us some time.

Kelly Stopp
Ms. Stopp is a reading specialist for second graders in Norcross, GA. She is originally from Ohio, but has lived in Atlanta for almost 10 years. She completed her bachelor and master degrees at the Ohio State University in early childhood education. Two years ago she completed her Specialist degree in early literacy and language acquisition. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Literacy.
Ms. Stopp always struggled with reading when she was a kid and became a teacher to help those that found learning to read frustrating. She thinks that teaching someone to read is one of the most profound skills you can help someone learn. It is one of the greatest gifts because it is certain to impact the rest of their lives! When she's not teaching kids and adults or in school herself, Ms. Stopp likes to travel near and far, listen to music and attend concerts, garden, cook, and yoga! kelly_stopp@gwinnett.k12.ga.us Meadowcreek ES website |
